PRESS RELEASE
Community Invited to Celebrate Groundbreaking for
Inaugural Home in New Housing Enhancement Northeast
Northeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission and partners Tri-County Electric
Cooperative, Northeast Power and Associated Electric Cooperative invite community
members to celebrate the ceremonial groundbreaking for the construction of the
inaugural home in the community development partnership’s Housing Enhancement
Northeast (HEN) program to develop workforce housing in Adair, Schuyler, Scotland,
Knox, Clark and Lewis counties in northeast Missouri.
The ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on March 26th in Lancaster, MO on North Linn
Street (three blocks north of the US 136 intersection) at the site of the first of what are
expected to be many, workforce housing developments across the region as the group
launches its efforts to bring the nonprofit mindset of community development into the
realm of construction to address a clearly defined shortage of housing to meet the
needs of the local workforce.
Brief remarks will be offered at the ceremony by NEMO RPC Executive Director Derek
Weber, Tri-County Electric Cooperative General Manager Mike Scheib, and Northeast
Power Manager of Economic Development and Member Services Allie Bennett.
Following the event everyone will be available to answer questions and share more
information about the program.
