Tri-County Electric Cooperative Employee Achieves Distinction as Certified Cooperative Communicator
Lancaster, MO – Tri-County Electric Cooperative, a leading electric cooperative in Northeast Missouri, is proud to announce that Stephanie Mills, a dedicated member of their communication team, has successfully completed the rigorous National Rural Electric Cooperative (NRECA) Certified Cooperative Communicator (CCC) Program. Mills is one of the select few cooperative communication professionals in the country to achieve this honor in 2024.
The NRECA CCC Program, now celebrating its 39th year, is widely recognized as the premier certification for professionals in the electric cooperative communication field. It provides comprehensive training in various aspects of cooperative communication, including strategic planning, public relations, marketing, crisis communication, social media management, and more.
To attain the coveted CCC certification, Mills invested over 104 hours in a combination of in-person and online classroom training sessions, culminating in the successful completion of a final project and multiple online exams. This extensive training equips them with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively communicate the mission, values, and benefits of electric cooperatives to the community.
With this accomplishment, Stephanie Mills joins an elite but growing group of communication professionals within the cooperative network. Currently, there are only 311 active CCC-certified individuals nationwide in the cooperative network, making this certification a significant distinction in the field.
Tri-County Electric is proud to foster a culture of professional development and encourages its employees to pursue opportunities that enhance their skills and expertise. Mills’ achievement in attaining the CCC certification underscores the company's commitment to delivering effective and transparent communication to its members and the broader community.
