Tri-County Electric Names Dalton Smith as Manager of Operations

Lancaster, MO (November 2023)—Tri-County Electric Cooperative announced this month that Dalton Smith is the new Manager of Operations. Smith replaces Ryan Bushnell who went to Federated Rural Electric Insurance Exchange in November after working fourteen years at Tri-County.

Smith graduated Kirksville High School and received an Associate’s Degree of Powerline Technology from Northwest Iowa. He then went on to earn a Bachelors of Applied Science in Management from Northwest University in Maryville.  He worked as an electrical contractor for four years before starting at Tri-County Electric in 2015. Smith served as a lineman before accepting the position as Manager of Operations.

Smith currently lives outside of Willmathsiville, MO with his wife Malissa and their three dogs. When he isn’t working Smith enjoys spending time with friends and family, and is an avid outdoorsman who likes to hunt and fish. In his new role, Smith brings his dynamic blend of vision, expertise, and leadership to propel Tri-County into the future with innovation and efficiency.

Tri-County Electric Cooperative Line Superintendent Larry Weaver said, “Dalton Smith has continually showed initiative and leadership skills. I have confidence he will continue to do great things in his new role.”
