It has been brought to our attention that several Tri-County members have been contacted about taking a renewable energy survey without requesting to be contacted. Once the initial questions have been answered, the conversation is followed up by another call asking additional questions for installing solar at your location. The company contacting our members was from Texas this time, but has come from various other states in the past. Some of the claims they are making to our members are misleading, and we want our members to be able to recognize fact from fiction. As always, if you are interested in installing renewable energy at your home or business, please consider contacting us first so you can be well informed prior to entering into any agreements. We want to ensure our members know the process, have the necessary paperwork and to ensure the interconnection requirements are being met properly in advance of any agreements the vendor might be requiring. It is our understanding a complaint has been made to the Missouri Attorney general’s office regarding some of the recent promises being made, and in the past has sued companies for making false claims. If you are contacted by a solar vendor without requesting the call, please do your homework regarding the claims they might be making to you.
